Google Fined $14,300 per day
Google was fined by a French court for $14,300 a day till it stops showing copyright books. A Paris based court ruled this judgment on Friday. Google inc. was also asked to pay $430,000 to a French publisher La Martiniere, who brought out the lawsuit on behalf of other French publishers.
This may set back the ambitious dream of this search engine giant to scan all world literature to an online digital library in next five years. Though, Google attorney Alexandra Neri has said that Google will appeal against this judgment. Google as a company is becoming more and more powerful day by day. There is already a U.S legal settlement that gives right to Google, to scan millions of books to its digital library. It is interesting to see that Google has scanned over 10 millions of books with the consent of over 30,000 publishers since 2004. Critics are saying Google is going beyond its rights, but no one is denying that it is very hard to stop Google from its mission.

Now Mobile Search Engine War!
We have been seeing the war between Bing and Google search on web since Bing was launched by Microsoft. In a step further, now they are competing on mobile web also. Bing has an enthusiastic team that is ever modifying the features of this search engine to impress their users.
Though Google is leader of mobile web too, but the features offered by Bing, have brought it to compete with Google and even go ahead.
In flight information tab in Bing you just have to enter the flight number and you get gate info, departure time and other information. NFL feature let you select your team and in seconds it gives all the recent updates and real time stats.
Though, Bing is not as feature packed as Google, but whatever they offer is better that its Google counterpart. Even the touch screen version of Bing mobile is very impressive.
Real-time Search Now on Google
Internet giant has come up with yet another new feature in its search engine. By adding the new real-time search feature now in its search engine, users will be able search data in real-time. This was the first time that a search engine has attempted to include real-time search and delivering the most relevant information was that any search engine would aim for. The new service which was ready for the Internet will be rolled out worldwide in a couple of days.
The new real time search would feature data from sites like Twitter, MySpace and Facebook and is expected to deliver the most accurate search results. Real-time search will be integrated in the present Google search page and will be available even for smart phones like the iPhone and devices using Google’s Android. Google has not divulged any details about the deal it had with Twitter or Facebook in this regard.
New Property Feature on Google Maps
Property owners and estate agents in the UK have yet another reason to rejoice, Google maps UK is all set to release a new feature which will help them display their property as an overlap on Google maps. Though Google has refused to give any official confirmation on this new feature launch, plans of this were discussed in a conference earlier this week. Analysts say this new feature will be similar to the one Google started in Australia and expects its launching next year.

There are keys like; starring messages, starting search and jumping between messages. This cool gadget was actually not created by Google but by a film producer Charlie Mason.

Fade Pattern on Google’s Homepage
Google, on 2nd of December 2009 announced a new look for its homepage. The so called a fade pattern, unique to itself being adopted by Google. This is a very interesting look for the regular users of Google like me.
When the user visits Google’s homepage, he is greeted by a blank page with just the Google icon and search button. Other links do not appear until you move your mouse. This new design was adopted after testing 10 similar designs.
Well it’s interesting to know why Google took the decision to use this design. This is being said that it depicts the origin of Google as a search engine. All the links added by Google on the top of the homepage comes into existent when the user moves the mouse. Let’s see what Google offer after this unique design to its homepage.
YouTube’s New Addition for Deaf Viewers
Deaf viewers of video website YouTube now have some news to rejoice. The parent company of YouTube, Google has rolled out the new automatic caption feature that will help deaf users in accessing the video website better. The new service will initially be available only in English and only on thirteen channels which includes most of Google’s channels and others like Colombia and National Geographic.
Another interesting fact is that Ken Harrenstein, the engineer behind the technology is also deaf. He’s of the opinion that this new software will enable many deaf people to access content on websites like Google. He also said that the caption feature will also include a voice-recognition feature. This new move from YouTube comes a week after the launch of YouTube Direct, a video service that allows members upload amateur videos of news worthy events.
Dell To Offer Chrome OS Soon!
Dell has succeeded in putting the first unpolished Chrome OS for their netbooks . Only last week Google has announced its code for chrome OS. Back with it came the Dell’s announcement about having got operating system up which run on 10v mini netbook. This would be interesting to see how it all works. Because Chrome OS is already facing many problems.
The new chromium browser is tremendously interesting to work with when it comes along with a network connection.The chrome OS of Google is prepared in such a way that it offers its consumers a simpler and safer and quicker way of getting up to the web. Dell is adopting this technology for its netbooks. Dells idea of aligning with chrome os is considered to be intelligent as it will provide numerous possibilities in future. There are some challenges which the company is facing to bring this technology up to the consumers.
