An important aspect of first person shooter games is the magnitude of the crime that it allows. A number of games in the market have come under the eyes of many human rights organizations that say many of these games allow war crimes that are totally inhuman and something that is not possible in the real world. A number of such games were accused of war crimes like killing civilians, torturing of prisoners and giving players the option to destroy buildings like religious places.

A team from a Swiss Human rights organization played a number of games and arrived at a list of games that allowed players to commit war crimes in the virtual world. They weren’t keen on protesting on the nature of the war crimes nor were they bent on asking the game developers to avoid war crimes. They were just concerned on the bad image that these games can convey to ordinary people about soldiers and the magnitude of the crime.
