N-Gage Disengaged

7 November 2009 No Comment

Nokia has finally decided to shut down N-Gage, the not so popular gaming platform of the mobile giant. Nokia hasn’t set any date for the shut down but has just mentioned that it will be shutdown in 2010. Nokia has also decided not to release any new games in the N-Gage platform and said that existing games will be available for customers till September 2010. Following the failure of the earlier release of the N-Gage gaming mobile, the gaming portal has also faced the same fate.

There was mixed response from many users of the gaming platform and many expressed their views on Nokia’s blog. Nokia has also decided to move all of its gaming content to its Ovi Store and said that the Ovi Store would serve as a one stop place for all games and applications. Many are of the opinion that the mobile giant took its decision mainly after its financial hit in the last quarter.
