Wireless Charging Now Comes to Notebooks

5 November 2009 No Comment

It is no surprise that Dell is releasing a new Business class laptop with many added features in it. Named as the Latitude Z, This notebook has a well designed exterior with soft touch and black cherry exteriors. It measures 16 inch across and at its most narrow point it is 14mm thin. These are no new special feature and that is present in most notebooks. But the actual specialty about the Latitude Z is that it charges wireless. The wireless charging is taken care by the special inductive pad fixed in the lap-top stand. The charging is done in the same amount of time in which the normal wired charger charges the laptop.

This idea was earlier implemented for smart phones and phones, yet no other company had so far come out with this idea for notebooks. This also comes with a small separate wireless adapter, which can be used to dock the notebook with any other monitor nearby. These two accessories really make the laptop wireless. And they are a bit expensive too with each one costing $199. Another important feature is the instant-on feature by which you need not wait for the Windows to load. Through a separate non-Windows interface, it allows e-mail, contacts, calendars, and a Firefox-based Web browser which can be synced with the system’s calendar and clock.
