T- Mobile and Orange in a Merger

16 September 2009 No Comment

Dutch telecommunication company T- Mobile and French telecommunication giant Orange are planning on a merger in the U.K to boost their sales and customer base. The merger would create a telecom company with over 28 million subscribers and with a turn over of over 9.4 billion Euros. If this deal by the two companies got through, it would be one with the largest mobile service provider in the U.K with about 37% of the mobile telephony market. This has come as the second largest corporate takeover after Kraft Food’s proposed take over of Cadbury.

Company sources said that the merger will cost around £700 million but after all the decommissioning and other moves, the companies would be able to save around £3.5 billion. T Mobile which is presently the fourth largest operator in the U.K aims to boost is sales with the move while the French company Orange will have a greater hold in the U.K telecom market without much trouble!
