iPhone may Open up to Other Wireless Carriers in the U.S
According to predictions from financial analyst Gene Munster, Apple’s iPhone deal with AT&T is likely to end by this year. If this prediction was to actually go true and if Apple were to open up its doors to other wireless carriers across the U.S, it would be a boon to them and is likely to boost their iPhone sales across the country. But things might not be that good AT&T which has been relying a lot on the iPhone to boost its sales in the wireless market.
Munster’s speculation is based on the recent move by Apple in France, where it ended an exclusive deal with Orange and opened up to various other wireless operators. There are several other countries where the iPhone supports several wireless networks. The most recent move by Apple to bring the iPhone into China is also not an exclusive deal and hence its likely that Apple might sell upto 3 million of its iPhones in China in the next year.
