A Single SMS Can Hack Your iPhone!

Does that sound foolish to you? May be, but that’s what the researchers said at Black hat cyber security conference in Las Vegas. It’s been said that an iPhone can easily be hijacked with a blank SMS message. The functions that can be controlled remotely include dialing, texts and switching on/off the device. This is a similar attack done on PC’s by remote bots. So iPhone has yet another loophole and this time can be serious one.

So is there any way to tackle this problem? Yes, Cyber security researcher Charlie Miller said to Forbes that the only thing a user can do is to switch off his iPhone and it’s possible to hack every single iPhone of this world with this technique.

I know you all will be thinking how does an end user know that he has been attacked by a hacker? Pretty easy, if you get a blank message o your iPhone having only a square, then it’s an attack and you should quickly switch your phone off.

It is bad on part of Apple that the researchers have previously told them about the bug but they haven’t taken any solid steps to tackle it. A similar security bug was reported in Android which has now been fixed.

Lets see when Apple fixes this big security loophole.
