Windows 7: A Gamer’s Delight?
Here are a few points that support the argument and tell us how the Windows 7 can be a better gaming platform.
1. DirectX 11 - A PC with good graphic hardware with the new DirectX can render significant changes in our computing experiences. Leading chip maker AMD is also of the opinion that with the DirectX 11, games will be rendered in better details and will have high frame rates.
2. Performance - In a recent blog post by Intel’s Brandon LeBlanc, he had mentioned how the Windows 7 is a better platform compared to its predecessor, the Windows Vista. Nvidia’s product manager Chris Daniel pointed out how the Windows 7 was the first OS to treat the GPU as a peer to the CPU.
3. Games Explorer – Yet another new feature in the new Windows 7 is the Games Explorer. Though it wouldn’t help the common gamer with respect to performance, it sure will be useful. Once a game is instlled in the PC, gamers could access their games from the Games Explorer tab.
4. Compatibility – A major concern for most avid gamers out there. Compatibility wouldn’t be an issue with the new Windows 7 as it can support almost all games from Assassin’s Creed to Far Cry. Microsoft also released a list of games that were compatible with the Windows 7.
Whatever new features the new Windows 7 will bring in, gamers will have their fingers crossed until the final build of the OS releases. Hope it will turn out to be the best gaming platform so far and a gamer’s delight.
