David Naylor an SEO with over 12 years experience has an SEO blog which has a large Internet readership. It turns out that a week or so ago noticed that some of his pages were not getting indexed like they normally would.
Now as a results he is closing down his blog.
He says “we have tried everything what we can think to get the blog reindexing again and it’s just not happening.” He adds that “if your out of Google your out of the internet and I feel that i have spent enough time going though my Logs and wasting my tech guys time trying to find a solution… so Google you won this battle. but the war is not over yet”
When his pages stopped being indexed there were several theories about why it had happened these included:
- that he had gained too many links over the past month due to the Google and Twitter debate
- because of the NON seo posts on a seo blog
- Google was banning him because he spoke out on certain topics, which would be Web Censorship.
Matt Cutts the well known Google employer even commented on Dave’s blog “I mentioned this post to the crawl/indexing team, so they may check it out–thanks for mentioning this.” but it looks like this didn’t help Dave’s situation and he is now looking for a new URL for a new blog.
As Dave said “if your out of Google your out of the internet”, since then we have started looking into which pages of our blog are in Google and it doesn’t look good.
