Wow, you're an idiot. Come back and comment when you have acquired a slight understanding of information technology.

That is all.

Athlons are x86, just like Intel, so what's your point? Simply using a different instruction set does not make you any more or less vulnerable. A virus has to live in an environment in order to spread, so you still need different versions of the same virus for different OSes. Nothing has changed there. As far as writing viruses for Apple: Unless the market share gets at least 5 times bigger than what it's now, few will bother...

Looks like I will get an Athlon and return to the PC where I can upgrade to my hearts content. Now I know why Apple's support for older machines has been faultering and its b/c of the PC world forcing intel on Apple. I now see Apple as not supporting anything G4 anymore. Personally, I hope each and every one of those intel macs gets VIRSUES, worms, and everything else which will bring down the machines because thats what Steve Jobs is getting now that he has alligned himself with Intel.

By becoming an x86 machine with mac os on it, the days of the intel macs will be surely numbered since now virus attackers will stop attacking PC's and target macs through the nice technology of intel which sucks in my opinion. AMD is the way to go and it is they who desire to drive intel out of business FOREVER.

Long live the PowerPC!

Unlike Microsoft, I think Apple is advancing faster by ignoring any backward-compatibilities or supporting old machines. This somehow contradicts Steve's idea of advancing technology which he exposed so clearly in his open letter to early iPhone users:

"there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon. The good news is that if you buy products from companies that support them well, like Apple tries to do, you will receive years of useful and satisfying service from them even as newer models are introduced."

...hmm.
